To celebrate Mental Health Week, we are please to be able to offer this vital and valuable suicide prevention workshop to the South West community at a heavily subsidised cost.
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is for anyone aged 16 or older, regardless of prior experience or training, who are interested in becoming an ASIST-trained caregiver. Over the two-day course, you will develop the comfort, knowledge, and skills to confidently and competently intervene to support someone at risk of suicide.
Delivered in five sections, participants will progressively learn the skills to identify risk, to connect sensitively with someone experiencing suicidal thoughts and/or behaviours, and to effectively support them to keep safe, utilising your own skills as well as available resources and services.
This training is being offered at a reduced cost via the St John of God Social Outreach, Suicide Prevention Coordinators program.
